Tell Governor Corbett to Oppose Voter Suppression Bill
On March 13, 2012, The Pennsylvania House of Representatives voted ___ - ___ on concurrence to pass the Voter Suppression Bill (HB 934) in a contentious session this afternoon. The bill, which was passed by the state Senate last Wednesday, now heads to Gov. Tom Corbett. Since the governor has been actively engaged in promoting the legislation, it is expected he will sign it quickly, however we are encouraging every defender of voting rights to contact Gov. Corbett AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to communicate strong opposition to the Voter Suppression Bill and to call on him to oppose it.
Thank you for all your efforts to oppose the Voter Suppression Bill in the state legislature. Now please help us to defend voting rights in Pennsylvania by keeping the pressure on Gov. Tom Corbett!
We have a lot of work ahead of us to educate the public & ensure that all eligible voters get the ID they will need in order to vote this November. We will keep you posted on next steps and how you can get involved in these ongoing efforts to protect our vote.
